The cornerstone event of the European challenge organized by ENISA will take place this year in Turin from 7 to 11 October 2024, organized by the National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN), together with the Cybersecurity National Lab of the CINI, with the support of the The municipality of Turin.
The European Cybersecurity Challenge, now in its ninth edition, will have as its backdrop the headquarters of the OGR - Officine Grandi Riparazioni. The teams, made up of 10 players aged 14 to 24, will compete in a two-day cybersecurity competition with representatives from EU countries and some non-European nations.
The final match will take place at the end of a cycle of selections and competitions which will be held in some parts of Italy and which will lead to the selection of the "blues" who will go to Turin to represent the national colours.
“We will have in Turin, in October, over a thousand people who will arrive from the 45 countries that will participate in the Championship. The competition will see the participation of the best cyber talents from Europe and other countries, who will compete in the attack and defense of systems that simulate very realistic situations", explained Paolo Prinetto, director of the CINI Cybersecurity National Lab.
“As the city of Turin we have made ourselves available to host this important event, which will require the collaboration of businesses, associations and local institutions to organize the welcome in the best possible way”, stated Giovanna Pentenero, Councilor with responsibility for cybersecurity of the Municipality of Turin.
“We need, as a nation, to work on awareness of cybersecurity, involving boys and girls and, in general, all citizens. The European Cybersecurity Challenge represents, for our young people, for our companies, an important moment of meeting and discussion on the new challenges of cybersecurity with other European countries", commented Luca Nicoletti, the Director of the Industrial Programs Service of ACN.
